Skin-to-skin with B

This post was sponsored by WaterWipes as part of an Ambassador Program for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my post.

Being skin-to-skin with my babies was one of my favorite things. We would become in sync. We would both relax and we would both feel love (well, I’m speaking for my babies, but I suspect I’m right). They all were skin to skin following their births, but B being accidentally born at home resulted in the most amazing and instantaneous skin-to-skin action I had ever had. And, I can’t recommend it enough.

Why Skin-to-skin?

In fact, WaterWipes made a video with a study showing the importance of skin-to-skin contact between mom and baby conducted by Dr. Susan Lundington the world’s leading skin-to-skin practitioner. There are newborn babies with heartbeats, temperature and breathing rates measured as well as filming with heat cameras.

Their hope is that all new moms and moms-to-be (and dads and partners, too) watch the film so they can understand and truly believe in the wonder of what mom’s body can do.

You must watch it. It’s likely you will have all of the feels!

Why WaterWipes?

Your skin is your biggest organ and absorbs so much. So, when it comes to your baby’s skin, you want to think about what you are putting on it. (You want to think about yours, too). WaterWipes is a chemical free baby wipe. They actually contain only two ingredients, 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. WaterWipes are strong and effective yet they don’t contain any of the harmful chemicals that may be found in other baby wipes. WaterWipes proves a safer, natural option for your little one.

So, when we need wipes at home for sticky fingers and hands, it’s WaterWipes to the rescue.

Using WaterWipes at home

When we go out to a restaurant and have black bean hands (okay, and maybe faces and “mustaches”), we reach for our WaterWipes because we want wipes without all of the extra harmful chemicals.

There isn’t anymore skin-to-skin with my kiddos anymore, but I can make sure that we are using the best we can on their skin both at home and away.

Did you do skin to skin with your littles?

You need to link to your birth story in this story so I can find it again. Loved it! 🙂 And your newer readers would love it too.

Thanks for introducing me to a new option for wipes.

  3. Where can I get this video? We are looking for something to play on the triage rooms at Kennestone that promotes skin to skin and this is awesome!

    1. That would be perfect! I’m guessing that it’s not ideal to pull it up on youtube every time, right? with the link here:

Let me ask the campaign manager, but I’m guessing it would have to go through WaterWipes?
