The oldest and I wrapped the week with a 2 hour Zumba-thon at our local YMCA. They were collecting toys for Toys For Tots as an entry fee and then we could go in and dance until we dropped.

Mr. Serious actually came up half way through (after N’s basketball game) to get the youngest two and offer to bring the oldest home. She decided to stay and did the entire thing with me.

Afterwards, we made sure to get a picture by all off the festive decorations. Of course, the party lights were still on making her have a fun blue band of light on her neck. She decided it was fun and should stay.

Also, we were both winners of door prizes! I didn’t even know they were going to have them, but she won a comfy Christmas basket with hot chocolate, a mug, bath bombs (I’m petitioning for at least one of them), a candle and cozy blanket! I won a new Zumba skirt and restaurant gift card.

We were able to share some new toys, some time together, work our bodies out and win fun prizes. So I’d call that a pretty great Friday night.

And before the weekend was out, I managed to grab a picture with my hair flat ironed (I don’t even remember the last time) and her trumpeting away!

  1. Hello!

You forgot to mention that on top of sharing some new toys, some time together, work your bodies out and win fun prizes, you did something great as it was a fundraiser!!

Thank you for posting this. You are so right about getting into pictures with our kids. Who cares what we look like? I think that to be ok with not being put together will do great things for our children – they notice and learn so much just by observing us all the time. I only have one son, and I think it’s important, but even more with girls. I just love your message!

    You have a beautiful family.
