Tie dying and reverse tie dying | Mommy and Me Monday | 585th ed
Looking for something fun to do on an asynchronous learning day, I thought it might be fun to tie dye some shirts with friends. And then, to step it up, we thought it might be fun to reverse tie dye some black shirts, too.
We all found shirts that were already in our closets that we were okay with dying. And our friend grabbed some black shirts to experiment on as well.
I showed the girls how we were going to twist up the shirts, and some of them went with their own patterns and then it was time for the process.
You can tell we are very excited about this.
I’m glad we all got to try different ways of tie dying and see what would happen when we did it.
The reverse tie dye came out really well, but we also learned a lot (let the bleach sit a little longer and use more color to cover up the orange from the bleach).
I should have left some space for white on my shirt.
And we decided E’s looks like cells!
They had fun jumping in their tie dye (and jumping me, too….no thank you to that again). And, Mr. Serious decided he would like to have his own tie dyed shirt to wear with us. So, we’ll be getting some more dye soon and get to work on his shirt!
