When practice is canceled | Mommy and Me Monday | 601st ed
Learning how a new coach and new team works is always fun. And you think you are prepared and have an idea of what to expect, and then nope.
The oldest had her first cancellation of cross country practice due to weather. (They run in the rain, and likely sleet and snow, but no storms.) And it was storming pretty bad.
So, what’s a kid to do? They are sent their planned run and are to make it happen. Except the storms kept going. And running hills on a treadmill for 50 minutes isn’t fun.
So, the oldest and I did a 30 minute Peloton ride as a warm up and to account for part of her run.
Then the storming stopped, so she got to do hills in our neighborhood.
N and I stood watch and also cheered.
I tried to get a sneaky picture of our runner, too, but she was onto me on her slow jog back down the hill. I see you, photobomber…
Ah…she caught us again…she’s supposed to be focusing on running up that hill full sleep ahead. How can you be full-ish speed when you are cheesing for the camera??
I mean, I guess she’s running pretty fast since she is a blur, right?
And, now we know what happens when practice is canceled due to bad weather.
What did you do this week?
