Fun and Recovery | Mommy and Me Monday | 650th ed
The season is about to start! That’s madness to me. I feel like school just ended, and we are starting back up next week! And have time trial at the end of the week.
The kids had a much deserved start of the season party, which we call “Guns Up.” (As a reference to the starting guns used at the beginning of the race.)
N is a captain this year and had to organize a game for the team. They got little rubber duckies, decorated them, and raced them across the pool without touching them! I think they had fun. (She put me in charge of handing out the ducks and the markers.)
Sunday, it was a recovery day. We were all pretty done from the week. Of course, I had my 60 minute Peloton ride, but thankfully, that was an endurance ride.
Ever since we had our ice maker installed, I realized, we might have enough ice for an ice bath at home.
It was probably a bit of a stretch, but some ice stayed ice, so I’m thinking we were pretty close to 32F!
The oldest usually does ice baths once a week during the season, but this was N’s first time.
Once they sat for a minute, I think things just got kind of numb. They did 8 minutes. And because I teased a little too much, I offered to get in, too.
They thought it needed more ice, so ice packs and any new ice the ice maker made.
It. Was. Cold!
The worst part was getting in…and then if the water moved at all. Which is did with the help of the oldest. She’s a stinker!
We are last week ready with open houses, and parent meetings. It’s going to fly by!
What did you do this week?
