Face, Races and Birthdays | Mommy and Me Monday | 714th ed
Sometimes there are like no pictures for the week and I struggle. Other times, there are so many pictures that I have to sort through them and pick the best. This is one of those weeks.
B Picked up my phone to take a selfie of herself while I was mid conversation with Mr. Serious. I stopped what I was doing and posed and photobombed her silly self. She loves it.
This weekend, the oldest two had a late Friday night race. Both of them ran in the varsity race which was extra exciting. My grandma and the girls great-grandma also flew in to finally catch one of their races. It wasn’t the best weather but we made the most of it.
N had a 29 second PR and ran fast enough to get her high school varsity letter. Mr. Serious asked that he have a picture so everybody knew he was there, too and N jumped in. Oh, and it just happened to be her 15th birthday, too!
After getting home very late, or even early, N and Mr. Serious headed to the DMV to secure N’s driver’s permit. She successfully passed and was allowed to drive home from the neighborhood pool to our house.
My legs were extra super duper hurty (and I didn’t even run the fastest 5K of my life like N did), so I wanted to do the ice bath. If you’ve never done one, it’s a lot of mental gymnastics. N came out to try to encourage me and then she also took a little time in it. It’s so cold, and so good after you are out!
During the day, B (with N’s help) made N a birthday cake for us and a few friends she had over. The cake was a hit and enjoyed by all.
Ironically, the oldest is missing from the picture and it was her birthday (yes, they are one day apart) because she wanted to go celebrate wing night with her friend. I guess this is where we are in life. (And yes, I’m bummed there’s not a picture of the 6 of us from this weekend).
We have a few months until the next birthday/anniversary celebration and whew I need the minute.
