Mamalicious Monday-Valentine’s Edition

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

I was a bad mommy and wife this Valentine’s Day.

Why?

I didn’t get Mr. Serious or the girls anything. I am terrible. (Well, I did tell hubby he could have that Rembrandt whitening kit, so maybe that counts, right? Next time, I’ll at least wrap it.)

We don’t usually do gifts on Valentine’s day, so I didn’t think anything of it.

Hubby came home later than usual Friday. I was overwhelmed with the girls, and wondered why he was late. And, then he told me.

“I stopped to get my Valentine’s some Valentines.”

And, then I just sunk. What a sweetheart.

And, before I tell you about the gifts…just look what we got for breakfast. And, he’s so good, he actually took this picture for me. Maybe he should start a blog! (Just in case you can’t tell, it’s heart-shaped homemade french toast with strawberries…our favorite.)

He got #1 the Olivia book to go with her Leap Frog Tag. She loved it immediately. And, a princess coloring/sticker book.
It couldn’t have been more perfect.

And, #2 got Peek-a-Boo, I love you!

She lit up when we read it to her. (Well, you can’t really tell here, but she did!)
For me? He got me a Blue Tooth hands-free headset for my new phone.
While it doesn’t sound all that exciting (and definitely not romantic). It really is a very thoughtful gift. I was having a hard time talking on the phone while driving nursing.

When his coworkers were discussing gifts and he told them what he was getting, one of them said “Why? So she can hold one kid in each arm and talk on the phone?”

His response?

“No, so she can cook dinner with two hands!”

And, then I redeemed myself for not getting him a gift (even though I know he was kidding).

What did you give/receive for Valentine’s day? Hopefully, not a husband who is learning how to be sarcastic!

I did, however, make sure they had a great time at school. Look at this loot.

And, I did schedule a very fun Valentine’s play date with the Powells. We made cupcakes, played with playdough and played DDR on the Wii.

I guess that might earn me some points back, right?
