Holiday Program | Mommy and Me Monday | 671st ed
I think we are almost to the shortest day of the year, which means the light will start coming again. In the meantime, it’s still dark outside when we walk to school.
You’ll see the kids’ backpacks have a few reflective spots, but I’m usually carrying a flashlight, and shining it behind us when I hear a car coming from the back. Without sidewalks in our neighborhood, it makes me a little uneasy.
I recently found out about light up running vests and knew I needed one. “Light me up like a Christmas tree” I said to myself. But, I never managed to add it to my cart.
But, I did add it to my online wishlist, where my friend Meghan found it and purchased it for me for Christmas.
I admit, I felt a little like a goober wearing it, but I got 2 compliments the very first time I wore it to school. So, I wore my light up vest every day this week. The kids think it’s hilarious to come up behind me and change the color scheme…I like the lights that appear to move the best!
There was one extra trip to the elementary school this week for E’s holiday chorus program. She was a reindeer in a fashion show. It was a cute 30 minute program that involved a lot of kids.
And if you can’t tell, the cafeteria got really hot so her cheeks were quite rosy.
I missed her first performance to be at a band concert, so I was very thankful that I was invited to the school performance for their fellow students.
The kids are out of school and this mom taxi is as busy as ever, but wishing you all a very wonderful holiday season!
