First week of Digital Mrs. Mommy | Mommy and Me Monday | 550th ed

One week of school down. Quite a few crying sessions, frustrated yells and trying to be optimistic. And that’s just me! The week was like 5 months long…at least. 

We did start every day with a walk to the elementary school…that was at least our consistent start to each day. 

And, I got our annual stair-step at the front of the house picture with all of the girls. 8th grade, 6th grade, 3rd grade and 1st grade. We even got it in before all of the virtual learning started. 

And then the learning system crashed, websites crashed, we can’t figure out how to upload lessons and so many other things. Really, trying to be positive and also embracing the suck has been super challenging for all of us. The system has potential. We can see it, but it’s not there yet. 

Oh, and to add to that Mrs. Mommy (aka me aka all of the middle school and elementary tech support, lunch lady, and more) had oral surgery on Friday. Because the fun doesn’t stop with this disaster of a mouth. And to quote pretty much everybody “the extraction is worse than this.” I call LIES! Because I pretty much stayed on the couch all weekend trying to stay medicated and it not even working. 

Thankfully, I had some good snuggles and we didn’t have any learning that had to take place on the weekend. 

So, here’s to week 2 of all of this fun. (Because these kids do come back and read these, and I think it’s important to capture all of our feelings…one just came up to me and said “online learning sucks. We try to do one thing and it’s just not working.” So, that’s where we are at…and it’s pretty accurate.
