Running and Ice Cream | Mommy and Me Monday | 638th ed
The oldest two girls are done with their competitive running for the season. N has a 5K coming up and Iz is wrapping up her break. (She qualified for sectionals, but won’t be running it.)
And yet, there’s running! I mean, we are the family that got up early this year and ran a 5K, so maybe they’ll make a runner out of me yet.
B and E are still getting geared up for summer cross country running camp. The intervals have continued and have been varied more with more intensity. And, nope, they are never easy for me, either.

With these sporty and sassy smiles, I’m not convinced they are running as hard as they can. Honestly, it’s probably a good thing because they will out-run me in no time.
They wanted to run a mile for time, but not pushing too hard. So we did that. They were both under 11 minutes, which I thought pretty good for just starting like 3 weeks ago.

They also had been asking for an ice cream trip all week. By the time dinner comes around, I’m ready to be permanently attached to the house. I didn’t want to leave.
So, we decided we do ice cream after N’s first flute recital. It helped that we had a fundraiser for some coupons. So, we loaded our coupons and each got a cone of our choice. (Thanks to ice cream places for having dairy-free options!)

Here’s to another hotter week of running, and end of year awards and concerts. How are there less than 4 weeks of school left?
