Movie Time with N | Mommy and Me Monday | 821st ed
N had recently mentioned she wanted to watch the “newest” version of Romeo and Juliet. After a very busy Saturday (5am wake up to catch the bus, 8:15am race in 34F temps…yay qualifying for STATE, a little lunch out with the team and working 2-10pm), she was ready for some downtime Sunday. Do I have any pictures of us together during all of this? Nope!
I heard the starting part of the movie and knew she had turned it on. Yep, I had to watch it again, too. It’s so good.
I sent this picture to my BFFs and my sister. Almost immediately I got these replies.
My sister’s came in first (but I texted it to her first…I knew it was and is her favorite movie).
Then, I got Lindsey’s seconds later.
It’s like I keep the same people in my life! Are you even a child born in the 80s if you haven’t seen this version of the movie? And if you haven’t, what are you waiting for?
It is a modern film adaptation that retains Shakespeare’s dialogue but sets the story in a contemporary, violent city. Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 film, Romeo + Juliet, modernizes the setting, costumes, and props (like replacing swords with guns) to create a new context for the classic story.
Sitting isn’t comfy for me still, but I can lay down so, we had some relaxing time in addition to getting chores like folding clothes done (like above).
What did you do this week?
GET IN THE PICTURE WITH YOUR KIDS! Who cares what you look like? Who cares how you appear? Who cares what you are wearing? JUST DO IT! Come share your picture on the Facebook thread or use #MommyAndMeMonday!
It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.
